Everyone loves to compete, but did you know that there are many more opportunities for you to get involved in FBLA? On both the state and national level, there are programs to help you grow as a business leader.
Business Achievement Awards
Business Achievement Awards are one way to get involved. There are four levels to the BAAs, Future, Business, Leader, and America. Many members complete one level for each year in high school. To reach each level, students must complete specific tasks in the categories of service, education, and progress. Those who complete these levels will be recognized at SBLC and NLC (for the America level).
Community Service Awards
These awards are similar to the BAAs except it is all service based. There are three levels including Community, Service, and Achievement. Each level requires a larger number of community service hours. So if you love helping your community, we’d love to hear about it and recognize you for it!
Social Media Challenges
Are you an aspiring photographer? Oregon FBLA holds the #myOregon Campaign where members can submit photographs of Oregon for a chance to have their work featured on the website and be eligible for a cash prize.
Every month, we also release a theme for our Monthly Video Challenge. This is a chance for you and your chapter to show off your creativity by making a video on that month’s topic and submitting it for a chance to win a prize at SBLC.
Membership Madness is recognition for members who have recruited five people to join FBLA. Members who recruit ten or more are recognized by Membership Mania. These are national programs.
We also like to recognize chapters at the state level who have increased their membership with our new Destination: Leadership campaign! Chapters that maintain their numbers will be rewarded with “First Mate” ribbons at SBLC. An increase of 7.5% in membership results in “Quarter Master” ribbons. Chapters that increase membership by 15% will be rewarded with “Captain” ribbons and prime seating at SBLC. So invite your friends to join the fun!
These are just a few of the opportunities provided through FBLA. For more information, talk to your adviser or explore the FBLA website: www.fbla-pbl.org . There’s a little something for everyone, so check it out!
