Important NLC 2015 Updates

If there is any chance you or your students are going to NLC, please take the time to fully read and digest this information.

Please review the Oregon list of National Competitors. You will also find the NLC Travel Package again for your convenience.

Important First Action:

If you are on the attached list, or if you have students on the attached list, please verify that they are correct. If your school is advancing in American Enterprise, Community Service Project, or Partnership with Business, please send me the student names (2 or 3) who will be representing your project at NLC. I need this information by Friday, please.

Important Second Action:

Everyone on this list should be making a $75 competitor deposit to Oregon FBLA. These are due on Friday, May 2. They can be made by check, purchase order, or credit card. If paying the deposit by credit card, please use the “donate” feature on our website.

Important Third Action:

NLC forms are all online, and they are due at 5 p.m. on May 2. Sample “one per school” and “one per traveler” forms are in the NLC guide. The forms can be found at:

Competitive Events Action Required:

Many events have elements that require pre judging or other efforts. Please thoroughly review this list to make sure that anything which applies to you – is completed.

STATEMENT OF ASSURANCE FORM

Here are competitive event actions:

  • 3D Animation: the URL must be submitted to me via email by May 2. This should be loaded on YouTube or SchoolTube. Please submit this to Mike on the statement of assurance form. Please type on the form – do not hand write.
  • Accounting II: Mike is sending tests via FedEx Saver to the lead advisers. These tests must be proctored by a non-FBLA adviser and they get returned DIRECTLY TO NATIONAL FBLA by May 8.
  • American Enterprise Project: Email Mike the names by May 1 of who will be representing your chapter. This project is uploaded online – Mike needs to receive a PDF file from all entries by May 1 that is under 10 MB so that he can upload to the national system.
  • Business Ethics: Mike needs to receive 6 copies of the team synopsis on the topic (not to exceed 500 words) in hard copy no later than May 1. This should be sent to Mike in Lacey. Each synopsis should be in a labeled file folder.
  • Business Financial Plan: Mike needs the names by May 1 of who will be representing your chapter. This project is uploaded online – Mike needs to receive a PDF file from all entries by May 1 that is under 10 MB so that he can upload to the national system.
  • Business Plan: This project is uploaded online – Mike needs to receive a PDF file from all entries by May 1 that is under 10 MB so that he can upload to the national system.

  • Computer Applications: Mike is sending tests via FedEx Saver to the lead advisers. These tests must be proctored by a non-FBLA adviser and they get returned DIRECTLY TO NATIONAL FBLA by May 8.
  • Computer Game & Simulation Programming: Mike needs to receive 2 sets of media with your original Game in Lacey by May 1. Mike also needs you to send him the statement of assurance form (only 1 copy) by May 1 (attached). Please type on the form – do not hand write.
  • Database Design & Applications: Mike is sending tests via FedEx Saver to the lead advisers. These tests must be proctored by a non-FBLA adviser and they get returned DIRECTLY TO NATIONAL FBLA by May 8.
  • Desktop Publishing: Mike needs to receive 2 sets of print material by May 1 in Lacey.
  • Digital Design & Promotion: Mike needs to receive 2 sets of print material by May 1 in Lacey. He also needs a statement of assurance form (attached). Please type on the form – do not hand write.

  • E-Business: Please submit this to Mike on the statement of assurance form (attached). Please type on the form – do not hand write. Mike needs to receive this by May 1.
  • Future Business Leader: Mike needs to receive 6 sets of application materials in 6 labeled file folders. Please be sure to adhere to the guidelines for folder labeling. Please be sure that letters are signed. These need to arrive in Lacey by May 1.
