Gavin Barrett

State President

Read Gavin's Bio

Gavin Barrett

Gavin Barrett is a senior at Molalla High School and is serving as the Oregon FBLA State President. As a third-year member, Gavin has advanced his leadership from a sophomore member, to junior Chapter President, and finally to a senior State President. In his first year in FBLA, he ranked 5th in Impromptu Speaking, advancing on to NLC, and in his second year, he qualified to compete at NLC in both American Enterprise Project (4th place) and Business Ethics (2nd place).

In the fall of 2018, Gavin plans on attending Stanford University or another prestigious university. Due to large amounts of academic rigor throughout his high school career, Gavin will graduate a single social science course short of his associate degree, which opens up the possibility of double majoring, in political science and business. These majors point in the direction of his desired career field of a politician.

Gavin’s goals and achievements as an FBLA member and officer can be epitomized by the statement, “I want to inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say, ‘Because of you I didn't give up.’” He intends to leave his mark on the world through FBLA by being a leader who creates not followers, but more leaders.

If you would like to contact Gavin, he can be reached at president@oregonfbla.org
