Fundraising for State

The 2013 State Business Leadership Conference (SBLC) is just a couple of months away! On April 4-6, FBLA students from all over the state will meet in Portland to Ignite Innovation in their competitions and prove that they deserve a ticket to the National Leadership Conference! SBLC can be a little on the expensive side, but it doesn’t have to be! Your State Officers want to give you some successful fundraising ideas to help you and your chapters raise funds to help you get to the conference. Guaranteed- with these ideas you and your chapter will be able to raise tons of money!

These are some of the ideas that have been successful for the State Officer Team:

  • State President Jaden Bales, and the Imbler chapter facilitate a spring talent show. During intermission they auction off dinners, labor, or other various items that students make. By the end of the night they raise a ton of money for SBLC!
  • Your Northwest Territory Region Vice President, Parker Snook has helped host a middle school dance at his high school in Scappoose, Oregon. The middle school students have a blast at the dance! They also sell roses to bring in a little extra profit.
  • Your Vice President of Media, Amanda Bailey and her chapter had a really creative idea! Her chapter rents out time as servers at events around their community. Every year they gain a huge profit, as well as valuable skills that they can add to their resumes.
  • Your Rogue Umpqua Region Vice President, Moses Montenegro and his chapter in Grants Pass recently hosted a variety show called the “Mo Show”, they sold tickets for the show for only $5. The show featured acts from all over the community. They raised a ton of money and had a lot of fun!

It only takes a couple of creative ideas and a group of dedicated members to put on a great event to raise money for SBLC. If you need some extra assistance with a fundraiser, your State Officers would love to come out and help in any way that they can! Good luck with the fundraising efforts, we can’t wait to see all of you at SBLC!
