Oregon FBLA: are you ready for the first step towards the Gateway to Greatness? Registrations are complete and your state officer team has been hard at work preparing to give you the best Regional Skills Conferences you have ever seen! If you are a new member, there are some things you need to have on your radar.
- Start practicing! RSC is coming up fast and we want to see you make it onto the stage. Be sure to finish your tests and prepare for any speaking events you may be competing in. If you need any help preparing for the competitive events that you are competing in, check the National FBLA website (http://www.fbla-pbl.org/web/page/589/sectionid/587/pagelevel/2/fbla.asp). A competitive events reference guide is on the National FBLA website for all online competitions. Simply click on “Competitive Events Online Reference Guide” and then select your competitive event for preparation help.
- While taking tests or participating in speaking events, be on leader time, which means being to your designated room at least 15 minutes early.
- Each region plans their conference a little differently. The Blue Mountain Region has the opportunity to explore Eastern Oregon Universityand hear from our very own government officials. If you are attending the Rogue Umpqua RSC you will be captivated by workshops held by state officers. The Northwest Territory Region will be celebrating having the first RSC in YEARS! The Willamette Valley Region will be doing something completely different this year: the performance events competitions will be on one evening at Chemeketa Community College and the awards session will be on a separate evening. If you’re in the Mt. Hood region, come to the RSC prepared for the FBLA Knowledge Competition between the different chapters.
